Merit and Individualism are racist White concepts and must be eliminated from the classroom. Grades will no longer be awarded based on performance, only a need to tilt the playing field in favor of the underprivileged. A level field isn’t good enough. Being a unique individual is no longer allowed, in favor of the collective “we.” Parents with children in the Los Angeles public school system aren’t sure whether they’re more upset because the teachers are being forced to discriminate against Whites, or because the teachers don’t need to be forced, since they already agree with that concept.
Its racist to be White
Teachers in the Los Angeles Unified School district are required to take a racist course as part of their “unconscious bias” training. They don’t mind one bit because they consider Tyrone Howard one of their all time heroes.
He’s the one teaching them they absolutely must challenge the concepts of “merit” and “individualism” because they are rooted in “whiteness.”
Howard is described as “a critical race theory advocate and a professor of education at the University of California.” Fox News got their hands on some of his “antiracist” training materials which seem to be very racist against White folks.
Teachers are explicitly trained to “challenge” the “Whiteness” in their schools. They believe that this “idea that white is the standard, white is the norm, white is our default has to be challenged.”
Whiteness is defined by the racist professor as the concept or idea that “white is normal and is the highest standard in the hierarchy.” It’s all on a subconscious level, liberals insist. Take the concept of “merit” for example.
“Meritocracy,” Howard insists, “assumes that each person operates and achieves based on his or her own personal capacity.” Working hard to get something is horribly unfair to people of color. “It incorporates the notion that the work put forth, the effort invested, explains why some groups and individuals do well and others do not.” Liberal educators can’t cope with that concept.
Historical factors to consider
Simply getting the answers right, or finishing tasks accurately in a reasonable amount of time, gives Whites an unfair and racist advantage because nobody takes into consideration the “historical factors or account for opportunities, advantages, and privileges to which some groups have access both historically and in the present.”
You either flip the burger when the timer beeps or you don’t. Claiming you can’t be expected to properly flip a burger because your great-great-grandparents were once sold like that burger is nonsense. Even so, that’s what our kids are learning. Then they wonder why they have no salable skills, even burger flipping.
Next, there’s that racist concept of being an individual and responsible for your own life and destiny. What a horrible concept, progressives gasp. “Individualism,” according to the lesson material, “proposes that each person is responsible for his or her outcomes.” How ghastly.
That’s “very much tied to merit, wherein group responsibility and accountability are not goals. Personal success and achievement are the goals. This belief operates from a survival-of-the-fittest approach that stresses singular pursuit and accomplishment.” You wouldn’t want to be stranded on a desert island with this professor.
As part of their homework, “all the teachers and LAUSD staff who went through the training” had to put their own racist proclivities under the microscope. They’re required to “identify the specific ways the constructs of privilege, whiteness, merit and individualism may be present in your setting.”
Once they identify all their White shortcomings, they need to “determine the immediate changes you will personally make, small or large, to promote increased racial and cultural sensitivity, inclusiveness and awareness in your work.” Civilization is doomed. Wasn’t it Ayn Rand who pointed out that everything “evens” out at zero? When the moochers and the looters get everything the producers made, everyone dies. Game over, no more quarters. Maybe the cockroaches will have better luck running the planet when they take over next.
