Generally speaking, the national convention gives a candidate a big boost in polling.
However, that did not happen for Kamala Harris.
In fact, she is sliding back to Trump in most battleground states as well as national polling.
It Failed
It always seems that the more people see of Harris, the less they like her.
And this time around she is paired up with Tim Walz, a serial liar who appears to be just as unpopular.
I have been scanning through polls to see how Harris is faring, and it is not a good sign for her campaign.
Her lead is diminishing in virtually every key battleground state that will decide this election, and that is particularly true in the Blue Wall states she needs to win.
For instance, Harris’ lead in Michigan is down to 2.4 points on the national average, while the latest polling shows Donald Trump ahead by one point.
In Pennsylvania, Harris’s lead is 1.2 points, down from 2.3 points, and the most recent polls show Trump and Harris dead even.
In Wisconsin, Harris had a huge lead of 3.8 points at one point, but the polling average now has her at 3.2%. The most recent polls show Trump ahead by one point.
For Harris to win, she has to win all three of these states. Not only that, but some of the blue states that were considered an automatic win for Harris are now also back in play.
For instance, Minnesota is now down to a five-point lead for Harris, and that is a state she simply cannot afford to lose.
This means she will have to change her campaign strategy to go back to these states to stop the slide when she should be concentrating on battleground states, which is where Trump will be spending the majority of his time before the election.
Trump is far from out of the danger zone, but he is clearly trending in the right direction.
