Before House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan goes after the “big fish,” Jack Smith, he’s netting a few “minnow” prosecutors to use as a sort of bait. He plans to interrogate other Just Us Department officials who weaponized the DOJ from Deep State shadows. Once he learns the nasty little secrets they’ve been hiding, he will be well prepared to interrogate the Special Prosecutor who had it in for Donald Trump.

Hit the prosecutors first

On Thursday, March 13, Jim Jordan started sending subpoenas out to federal prosecutors. The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee “demanded interviews from a series of Justice Department officials he accused of weaponizing the department.

Specifically, the Republican representing Ohio is “pushing to speak with several figures tied to President Trump’s criminal cases.

The part that caught everyone’s attention is the fact he didn’t even mention “special counsel” Jack Smith. Jordan wants to grill the other prosecutors first.

The witchsmeller who dresses like an evil time lord dropped his cases against Donald Trump as soon as the election was over. He’s smart enough to realize that the point was moot since his persecution was entirely calculated to prevent Trump from winning the election.

The first of the federal prosecutors Jordan wants to have a little chat with is David Weiss. He also had “special counsel” status but was too timid to use it.

That’s because he was charged with investigating Hunter Biden. He wasn’t supposed to ever charge Hunter with anything and almost got away with it.

Cooney and Windom

The part about Jordan’s letter to freshly confirmed Attorney General Pam Bondi which caught Democrat attention is where he “requested interviews with top prosecutors on Smith’s team, including J.P. Cooney and Thomas Windom.

Weiss was expected to give some follow up testimony because he recently put out a final report on his case. If Cooney and Windom are about to get the third degree, it’s significant that Smith wasn’t chosen for the same treatment.

As The Hill describes, the committee “routinely requests that special counsels appear before the panel once it has issued its final report, making the exclusion of Smith notable as lawmakers otherwise pursue conversations with his colleagues.

The other prosecutors will be much easier to intimidate.

Former Special Counsel Jack Smith and his team, including Cooney and Windom, orchestrated a partisan and politically motivated prosecution of President Donald J. Trump and his co-defendants,” Jordan wrote.

These actions undermined the integrity of the Justice Department and violated the core responsibility of prosecutors to do justice.” Jordan seems to know what he’s fishing for. Regarding Cooney, he also asked “the DOJ’s Office of Professional Responsibility to turn over any internal files on the prosecutor.
