He’s Being Replaced, Huge Trump Win

Exposes Trump

This week, the world was stunned by the sudden resignation of Justin Trudeau as leader of the Liberal Party.

He said he will stay on as Prime Minister until the next election, but that too may be in jeopardy.

This has opened the door for Opposition Leader Pierre Poilievre to take his place in the upcoming election, but this may not be all strawberries and whipped cream for Trump.

Trudeau, in announcing that he was stepping down as leader, stated, “As you all know, I am a fighter, and I am not someone who backs away from a fight, particularly when a fight is as important as this one is.

“But I have always been driven by my love for Canada, by my desire to serve Canadians and by what is in the best of Canadians and Canadians deserve a real choice in the next election.

“And it has become obvious to me — with the internal battles — that I cannot be the one to carry the Liberal standard into the next election.”

If polling remains anywhere close to where it is now, Poilievre and the Conservative Party will crush the Liberal Party, installing him as the PM.

However, I am not sure this is going to be a completely smooth relationship with Trump.

For one, Trump’s comments about turning Canada into the 51st state did not sit well with Poilievre, who stated, “I have the strength and the smarts to stand up for this country and my message to incoming President Trump is that first and foremost, Canada will never be the 51st state of the U.S.”

He has also been very vocal in opposition to the low price for which Canada is selling oil to the United States, claiming Canada is ripping itself off.

This just stresses the need for the United States to be energy-independent again.

The next election in Canada is in October, so there is still plenty of time, but down three to one in polling, I just don’t see the Liberal Party coming back.
