House Oversight Chair James Comey (R-KY) is about to hand Democrats a major gift in the next congressional term.
Rep. Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has expressed interest in being the ranking member on the committee.
Comer seems to support that, insinuating that AOC was qualified and among the best and brightest in the Democrat Party.

Comey either has a soft spot for AOC, or he really hates Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), as he clearly took a shot at Raskin while discussing the elevation of AOC.
When asked about AOC becoming the ranking member of his committee, Comey stated, “I think that if you look at the current leadership with the oversight committee on the Democrat side, they’ve had Jamie Raskin leading them.
“So the Democrats have nowhere to go but up. Jamie Raskin has been wrong.”
In regard to Raskin, he could not be more right, as the man is a complete and utter idiot as well as being a snake in the grass.
For Raskin, it is always about the headline and nothing more.
For instance, after Donald Trump signed the deal with the FBI to vet his nominees, Raskin started telling the media that he was demanding that Trump agree to allow the FBI to vet everyone in his administration.
This is Raskin puffing his chest, making it sound like Trump caved to his demands when the papers have already been signed.
For me, Raskin is right there with Schiff and Pelosi, so in terms of Comey’s statement, he is right, there is no where to go but up for Democrats.
But still, is AOC the ideal person to be calling the shots for Democrats on that committee?
She has proven time and again that she comes to the table with bogus and/or incorrect information, so I am not sure if that is the person we want, especially when it comes to oversight.
