The skirmish between mounted Border Patrol agents and illegal Haitian invaders that took place back in September is a political hot potato which Senate conservatives Charles Grassley and Mike Lee just used for a grenade. Shortly after the staunch conservatives on the Senate Judiciary Committee hurled it at Minister of Domestic Security Alejandro Mayorkas Tuesday morning, the palace issued an “update” on the so called “investigation.”
Not much of an update
According to the official update issued Tuesday, November 16, by the recently re-designated Palace Ministry of Domestic Security, the administrators and watchdogs have been playing a game of hot-potato with the politically radioactive issue.
DHS threw it to their Inspector General, who quickly tossed it to the border patrol’s professional responsibility office, who tried to throw it in a corner until it could cool off. That’s where it was laying, when the Senators picked it back up to whap Mayorkas in the face with.
Regarding the “investigation of horse patrol activity in Del Rio, Texas on September 19, 2021,” there is one, DHS insists. “U.S. Customs and Border Protection initially referred the investigation to DHS’s Office of Inspector General. The OIG declined to investigate and referred the matter back to CBP’s Office of Professional Responsibility.”
According to the update, “OPR then immediately commenced investigative work, including its review of videos and photographs and the interview of witnesses, employees, and CBP leadership.” It started but it’s a long way from done. Wrapping it up would mean writing a report and that won’t look good for the palace. They might as well jot “Let’s Go Brandon” as the title.
Biden on the lie that border patrol were using whips on illegal immigrants at the border:

It’s clear to anyone who knows anything about horses, that the Border Patrol agents were only doing their job, or trying to. “Agents use their reins for a lot of reasons. Primarily it’s used to steer the horse, but agents will also spin them sometimes to deter people from getting too close to the horse.”
That’s not safe for the illegals. “If they get too close, the horse can step on them, breaking bones or causing other injuries. Agents also need to maintain control of their reins so they don’t lose control of the horse, which can cause injuries to immigrants, the agents, and the horses.” That didn’t make it into the update.

Use of split reins
During the Senate Hearing, Republican Mike Lee tore into Alejandro Mayorkas, whipping him with a frenzy of questions. “Has no one in your entire department ever become aware of how one uses split reins when riding a horse?”
That’s nothing to the way Senator Grassley ripped him a new one. The update was a direct response, even if it doesn’t really respond to anything.
.@SenMikeLee just RIPPED Mayorkas for perpetuating a false narrative and not defending CBP agents who were falsely accused of whipping migrants at the southern border:

When Grassley had his turn to interrogate Mayorkas, he reminded the official that the “most solemn responsibility of the Department of Homeland Security is to protect the people of the United States.” Not the illegals.
“In choosing to actively ignore the immigration laws passed by Congress and in choosing to pursue policies that encourage unprecedented levels of uncontrolled illegal immigration to the United States, this Administration and this DHS have failed on both counts.” They couldn’t get the update out fast enough.
Mayorkas is being held personally responsible for the “sorry state of affairs” at the southern border. After all, Kamala Harris isn’t interested in doing anything about it. More than 1.4 million invaders have strolled across the border since Joe Biden took the throne. “That on its own is an astounding number,” Grassley thundered.
“It’s greater than the individual populations of Wyoming, Alaska, Vermont, North Dakota, South Dakota, Delaware, Montana, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, and Washington, DC. It’s twice as large as the Des Moines, Iowa, metro area. And that doesn’t include the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants who got away.” He doesn’t care about their silly update, he knows the real score. “When you run DHS like it’s an ‘Abolish ICE’ fan club, you shouldn’t be surprised when you have an illegal immigration crisis on your hands.”
