Beltway Braces For Deplorable Return of We The People

Just when Washingtonians thought it was safe to drive the beltway to work again, they suddenly learned they’re about to be disrupted by deplorables. Starting Tuesday. That’s because the People’s Convoy is circling back to their beloved Hagerstown Speedway, with plans to pick right back up where they left off.

Circling the beltway

We the People have a way of making our political representatives and their administrative staff overly anxious. All it takes is a simple cruise around the freeway loop encircling our nation’s Capitol, lovingly called the “beltway.

The reason liberals get so upset is because the devoted convoy of freedom loving truckers, and those who support them, calls attention to the “Truth” with a capital T.

In March, the convoy’s patriotic patrols of the I-495 beltway resulted in illegal roadblocks which the peaceful demonstrators sued for damages over.

When the forces of evil darkness inevitably began to infiltrate the peaceful patriotic masses, to sow discontent, organizers executed a strategic withdrawal. It wasn’t a “surrender” as Democrats hoped.

Sunday’s rally was held in Ohio as our representatives of We the People make their way back East. With a stop planned on Monday, May 16, in Pennsylvania, the convoy is due to arrive at their Hagerstown, Maryland base-camp by Tuesday.

It’s not clear at this time if operations are planned on the beltway for Tuesday but it’s certain they’ll be starting up again directly.

End the emergency

At this stage of the game, government officials have no excuse for continuing the national declaration of emergency regarding COVID-19. That’s the core issue but everyone knows it isn’t the only one. After making daily trips around the Capitol for nearly three weeks in March, the People’s Convoy packed up and headed for California.

There, they regrouped and made plans for the next round. One of these days, Earl Conlon may realize his 2013 dream of big-rig trucks encircling the beltway three lanes deep.

Police and Homeland Security officials are going spastic with anxiety. “Both the Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barracks and a spokesperson for the City of Hagerstown told WUSA9 last week they were not aware of any plans for the truckers to return to the speedway.” They know now.

Government officials are planning ahead for more possible roaming protests in the area.” It’s not clear if they will block the beltway exits this time around. That’s what they got sued for.

The District of Columbia is currently “involved in a legal battle with some of the participants of the People’s Convoy.” Specifically, earlier this month, “16 members of the People’s Convoy filed suit.” They claim “the local government violated their First Amendment rights by not allowing truckers to enter certain parts of the District from the highway.

They also seek an injunction “to make D.C. government allow truckers to enter the District, without interference, so they can participate in free speech activities.” Looping the beltway is constitutionally protected free speech. If we still have a constitution, that is.
