Recently, the United States Army released a recruitment video…and it’s gathered quite a lot of attention and controversy on social media. The footage showcased a group of white males, something that seems to stand in stark contrast to previous attempts to emphasize diversity and inclusion among its ranks.
This comes after an animated film was released with a narrative about a girl who was raised by two mothers; this ad intended to send out the message that all types of people are welcomed into the military regardless of their background or family structure.
However, the new video seems to paint quite the opposite picture by highlighting traditional images of strength and camaraderie within an all-white demographic. Tech mogul Elon Musk expressed his disapproval with a tweet noting this discrepancy between previous advertisements and this one.
Others issued warnings to Generation Z, indicating that they would be at risk for draft if certain political decisions aren’t made and their votes aren’t taken seriously.
Uh oh

It remains unclear whether or not the US Army’s latest recruitment video signals an overall shift towards conservative beliefs and values among those who serve our country. One thing is certain however, regardless of one’s political affiliations or ideologies, it is important now more than ever before that we come together as Americans in times of need – both domestically and abroad.
Following the release of the video, many people took to Twitter to offer their reaction:
Gen Z better buckle up. They are the first in line for the draft. This is what you get for voting for Joe Biden.
