The 2024 election absolutely stunned Democrats.

For the life of them, they could not figure out how “nice” guy Joe Biden could get slaughtered by Trump, and they surely could not figure out how the future of the party, Kamala Harris, blew the 4-point lead she was staked when Joe dropped out.

Now, the finger-pointing begins, and a lot of them are directed at Barack Obama.

Time for Change

From a conservative standpoint, Barack Obama did exactly what we needed him to do to blow this election.

Remember the video of Barack with the young group of black men, berating them for daring to think for themselves?

Obama literally told them that they needed to vote for Harris because she looked like them and had some of the same experiences they had.

This was identity politics to the Nth degree, and it failed.

Minority voters have been pulling the handle for politicians who looked like them for decades, and where has it gotten them?

What did Barack Obama do for them? What has Maxine Waters done for them? How many black members of Congress have seen their districts turn to complete and utter garbage on their watch?

Well, some of the powers that be are now pushing back on the way Obama has led to the party, more specifically, on how he went from being broke to turning into an elite.

An anonymous Democrat strategist stated, “I don’t know exactly when Democrats lost their comfort with populism, but I don’t think it was because Trump picked it up.

“I think Trump picked it up because Democrats gave it up during the Obama years, when they started chasing Silicon Valley money and Obama wanted to appeal to college-educated people who think populism is icky and uneducated.”

Normally, I don’t like reporting on anonymous sources, but I get it here… if that person gives up their name, they will be run out of town by the powers that be in the party.

That also plays into our hands, however, because it shows that most of the party did not get the memo in 2024 and are unlikely to get it for the 2026 midterms.

I can tell you this, while I don’t expect the GOP to hold the House in 2026, with history laying some heavy odds against it, but if they do, it could lead to a massive changeover in Democrat Party leadership and present a huge opening for the GOP to expand its base rather significantly.
