Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) has very little time left in office.
She sounds as though she will continue to use every second to take shots at Trump.
Now that the January 6 Select Committee has subpoenaed Trump, Cheney is offering her insight as to how all of this will play out.
Compelled to Testify
Publicly, Trump has been bitching about having to testify before the panel.
Privately, sources say that Trump actually wants to take the stand and make a mockery of the entire committee.
Cheney says she is not going to let that happen, but also believes that Trump will testify.
Cheney stated, “We are anticipating that the former president will understand his legal obligation and will comply with the subpoena.”
She continued, “We’ve made clear in the subpoena a number of things, including that if he intends to take the Fifth, that he ought to alert us of that ahead of time.”
Cheney further stated, “This isn’t going to be, you know, his first debate against Joe Biden and the circus and the food fight that became.
“This is a far too serious set of issues, and we’ve made clear exactly what his obligations are, and we are proceeding with that set out.”
I hate to break it to you, Liz, but if Trump shows up, it will be bigger than Barnum & Bailey.
