With Joe Biden pardoning Hunter Biden, Trump surrogates believe this has opened the door to mass pardons being issued by Trump.

Breitbart Editor-in-Chief and “Alex Marlow Show” host Alex Marlow has actually suggested that Trump that as soon as Trump gets into the Oval Office, he announces blanket pardons for all January 6 defendants.

He seems to be forgetting something in making that suggestion, however.

Not a Good Idea

I think most people reading this would agree that only a small percentage of 1,400 J6 defendants actually deserved to be charged, and they are the ones that Trump really needs to avoid when discussing a pardon.

Marlow wants them all pardoned, however, stating, “Donald Trump should pardon every single person and commute the sentences of every person who was involved in January 6. … It was so overblown, and we need to send a signal that you’re not allowed to do that to the American people.”

Trump cannot pardon them all, and this is why…

According to Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, insurrectionists or anyone having lent aid and comfort to an insurrectionist is no longer eligible for office.

If Trump pardons anyone charged with insurrection or sedition, this will be interpreted as having lent aid and comfort, and he could be impeached.

If I were Trump, I would already have my legal team scouring over these records to identify the non-violent offenders.

While there will be political fallout for that, it will not be as bad as if he pardons people who assaulted police officers or vandalized the Capitol.

As I stated in previous reports, my preference would have been that Trump never committed to these pardons, then he could have pardoned them going out the door in 2028.

My concern is how this will impact mid-term elections and the 2028 election. We cannot afford to turn control back over to Democrats in four years, so I hope this does not backfire on Trump.
