Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) took aim at Dr. Anthony Fauci, Planned Parenthood, Major League Baseball and the Biden-Harris regime in an interview with Fox’s Neil Cavuto this week. You’d think he was running for President or something… Paul is demanding that the DoJ under Attorney General Merrick Garland open an investigation into the unlawful participation of Planned Parenthood affiliates in the COVID19 Paycheck Protection Program or PPP.
Fox News reported that they obtained letters from Dr. Paul in his capacity as ranking Republican on the Senate Small Business Committee sent to the AG, SBA Inspector General Mike Ware and SBA Administrator Isabel Guzman calling for “immediate attention” to the matter, claiming that the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) applied for PPP loans with “full knowledge of their ineligibility” to receive the funds.”
Senator Paul wrote,
“We write to request your immediate attention to the unlawful participation of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America in the Paycheck Protection Program,” GOP Sens. Marco Rubio, James Risch, Tim Scott, Joni Ernst, James Inhofe, Todd Young, John Kennedy, Josh Hawley and Roger Marshall also signed the letter.
The GOP Senators are referring to the CARES Act which passed in 2020. They noted that PPP eligibility is limited to companies with 500 employees or less. They cited that the rules require a companies affiliates be considered when determining their size. The size of an entity is considered “with each of its affiliates in the determination of eligibility.”
“To obtain a PPP loan, an applicant must certify that they are eligible to receive a loan under the rules in effect at the time the application is submitted,” the Republican senators wrote. “In making such certification, an applicant is required to apply the affiliation rules applicable to the PPP and identify its affiliates.”
A Massive Win For the GOP Over Planned Parenthood
Paul’s actions in the SBA bore fruit last month when according to Fox, “the SBA provided the Senate Small Business Committee with an updated dataset on PPP loans as of March 14, which revealed not only that most of the PPFA affiliates “have not returned their PPP funds as requested by the SBA” but also that two additional affiliates applied for and had been approved for a second draw loan “with full knowledge of their ineligibility.”
Now it is up to the Biden-Harris DoJ to enforce the Senate’s findings. Unfortunately that means don’t hold your breath.
“Democrats knew this was never about COVID relief or helping small businesses,” Paul told Fox News. “It was a shameless attempt to fund their radical agenda on the taxpayers’ backs, and I was successful in preventing that from happening by stopping these funds from going to abortion mills.”
While he was at it Paul took aim at Coca-Cola and Major League Baseball suggesting that these companies are unwise to anger half of the nation.
“I think the only thing that they will learn from is if people quit using their product. And this is across a wide array of things, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube whose taken my speeches down that were given on the Senate Floor. They don’t understand you trying to tell them they’re being overbearing or that they shouldn’t be so woke or they shouldn’t be so liberal. Just quit using their products and so the thing is that we have 40-45% of the American public are Republicans.
If people disrespect you, if people don’t have any respect for you or your political beliefs, don’t use their services. If Coca-Cola, wants to be the product, wants to be the soda of Democrats that’s fine. Otherwise they need to stay the heck out of politics. Because what they’re doing is angering every Republican in the Country.”
