As a portion of his disclosures to the US Senate prior to confirmation proceedings, Biden nominee for the Directorship of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, David Chipman neglected to mention that immediately following the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting at Newtown, CT in 2012, the deadliest school shooting in US History, he was busy being interviewed by CGTN. CGTN (Formerly, CCTV America) if you’re not familiar with it is the Chinese Communist Propaganda machine.
And why did they want to interview an anti-Second Amendment lobbyist, former ATF agent that day? Because by focusing their people’s attention on the Sandy Hook tragedy, they could distract from another tragedy that took place the same day in Henan, China where 23 students were injured in a brutal knife attack. David Chipman was in 2012 exactly what he would be as ATF Director: a tool for the Democrat-Socialists in Congress and for the Chinese Communist Party.

It is controlled by the Communist Party and serves as part of what Mr. Xi has called Beijing’s ‘publicity front.’” as described by the New York Times. In 2019, the Department of Justice (DOJ) required CGTN to register as a foreign agent under the Foreign Agents Registration Act, or FARA.”
DoJ sources have told the media, that FARA “requires certain agents of foreign principals who are engaged in political activities or other activities specified under the statute” to disclose their activities periodically to the Justice Department.
Chipman never disclosed the interview.

A Blatant Chinese Propaganda Hit Piece With The ATF Nominee
CGTN host Elaine Reyes while interviewing Chipman set up an absolutely shameful framing with the implication that the murderer Adam Lanza acquired the weapons he used in the crime legally. The investigation in fact bore out that he had killed his mother and stolen the firearms from her.
Chipman uttered the same anti-Second Amendment talking points that hundreds of leftist talking-heads had that same week. But there is one key difference, by doing so on CGTN, the propaganda arm of the Chinese Communist Party he undermined his own nation and allowed the CCP to deflect attention away from their own domestic tragedy while emphasizing ours in the worst possible way.

“On the same day as the Newtown shooting, a crazed man broke into a school building in central China, stabbing and slashing 23 pupils in an attack that, although not fatal, lit up the Internet – but barely registered with official state media.
Instead, media gave top coverage to the U.S. shooting and barely mentioned the Henan school attack, a decision that has drawn sharp criticism of the ruling Communist Party’s readiness to reflect on the ills of U.S. society but not on China’s own.”
