Many of us had a very bad feeling about the release of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl five years ago in exchange for five hardened Al Qaeda and Taliban terrorists from Guantanamo Bay known as the “Gitmo 5”. And now in 2021, during the Biden-Harris regime, which is objectively the continuation of the Obama White House, our misgivings, our “hunches” our “gut feelings” have been horrifically vindicated.
Louis Avallone of American Ground Radio wrote about it at the time, after hearing Bergdahl’s father speak in the Rose Garden “SO…when Robert Bergdahl is standing in the Rose Garden of the White House, and he says the phrase, “bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim” (translated from Arabic, “In the name of God, the merciful, the compassionate”), and when he posts online that, “Democracy is a cult in the West”, and that “I am still working to free all Guantanamo prisoners” and that “God will repay for the death of every Afghan child, amen!”, something’s out of wack.” Indeed, something was very, very wrong with this picture and most people had misgivings even within out intel community. Obama should’ve listened to them.
The Gateway Pundit reports that four out of five of those very same terrorists have been made leading commanders in the Taliban’s Afghanistan following the nightmarish withdrawal of American forces at Biden’s order and the chaos that ensued.

It’s crystal clear that Obama was played for a fool and five years after his failed administration we are now reaping the terrible harvest of the seeds he planted. And the fruit is most bitter to the Afghan people, it remains to be seen when (not if) this mistake will bite us as well…again.
The Daily Mail reported September 7th,” Four top members of the Taliban’s new interim government are former Guantanamo Bay prisoners who were freed by the Obama administration in a prisoner exchange for Army deserter Bowe Bergdahl.
The four new officials were members of the hardline ‘Guantanamo Five’ who were traded to free Bergdahl from the Taliban-aligned Haqqani network in 2014.
The Taliban on Tuesday announced the appointment of Acting Director of Intelligence Abdul Haq Wasiq, Acting Minister of Borders and Tribal Affairs Norullah Noori, Deputy Defense Minister Mohammad Fazl, and Acting Minister of Information and Culture Khairullah Khairkhah.”
The situation which developed following the US withdrawal from Afghanistan was precisely what US Intelligence experts warned President Obama would be the result of releasing the ‘Gitmo 5’ all the way back in 2016. This was a completely self-inflicted outcome that could have and should have been avoided.

It was well-known by US Intel leaders and the Obama administration that the terrorists released in exchange for a traitor and a deserter were no lightweights, as The Hindustan Times reports, “The ‘Gitmo Five’ were labeled “hardest of the hardcore” by US intelligence officials who urged Obama to reconsider his decision. However, those warnings were ignored, with assurance that these five terrorists will be kept in Qatar, so that they are not able to indulge in active politics in Afghanistan.” Obama, like Biden after him, was warned about his misstep in Afghanistan and chose to move down a path that cost American lives and strengthened our enemies. Does anyone else see a pattern here?
