WASHINGTON - OCTOBER 25: Democratic presidential candidate, Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE), announces a new piece of anti-crime legislation during a press conference at the U.S. Capitol October 25, 2007 in Washington, DC. Among other provisions, the bill would provide for hiring 1,000 new FBI agents to focus solely on traditional crimes, rather than crimes related to terrorism. (Photo by Win McNamee/Getty Images)

When Donald Trump lost his election in 2020, he did not attend Joe Biden’s inauguration.

It was the first time in about 150 years that a sitting president did not attend the inauguration of his successor.

That will not be the case in 2025, as Joe Biden has confirmed that he will be attending Donald Trump’s inauguration.

I’ll Be There

There have been three presidents in the history of the country that skipped an inauguration.

The first was John Adams, who skipped the 1801 inauguration. He reportedly left before the sun came up.

Several decades later, in 1829, John Quincy Adams decided to skip the inauguration, having left DC on the eve of the big day.

Then, in 1869, Andrew Johnson skipped the inauguration of Ulysses S. Grant.

Trump left because he did not believe that he lost the election. Not to mention, most Democrats did not want him there anyway.

Even though I am sure that most conservatives would have cared less if Biden had been there, he confirmed that he would be there on Trump’s big day.

During a recent interview, Biden stated, “The fact that he doesn’t abide by the rules of the democracy we’ve established is not my concern.

“My job is to make a transition workable and available.”

“The bottom line is that we can’t keep this up.

“We can’t keep up this childish game of walking away when you don’t agree and not cooperating.”

Perhaps Biden should have made that speech to his fellow Democrats, as many Democrat members of the House have already stated they will not be attending the event since Trump won the election.
