Any hope that Donald Trump had of his daughter joining him in this administration is now officially gone.
Ivanka had stated before that she was pulling out of the political world, but there was speculation she may change her mind.
Both she and her husband, Jared Kushner, have doubled down, stating they 100% will not be in this administration.
Rooting for You
Ivanka has been asked about this many times, and she always gives the same answer.
When asked the last time if she would be joining her father in DC, she stated, “While I will always love and support my father, going forward I will do so outside the political arena.”
Jared Kushner was asked the same question recently, and he said simply, “No.”
Personally, I don’t think it is a bad thing because Ivanka is more left than right, and Kushner has always come off as a bit of worm to me… he just rubs me the wrong way.
As for the people who have agreed to be in the Trump administration, Donnie has been all over the place with his picks.
Tom Homan coming back was a no-brainer, but Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) getting secretary of state was a bit of a surprise.
Most of Trump’s picks should fly through the Senate, but he is going to have some challenges.
For instance, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) for AG is a pick not too many people understood or even support.
RFK Jr. heading Health and Human Services is also going to get some resistance. I also suspect that Dems will fight Tulsi Gabbard.
Trump has also hinted that he would like to use recess appointments to push some of his nominations through, and Thune says that he supports this.
But again, let’s see what happens once the GOP takes back the Senate and White House.
I believe this is the calm before the storm and all hell is about to break loose in January.
