Five republican lawmakers tossed off of Nancy Pelosi’s kangaroo court of insurrection biased investigators released their own report on Wednesday. Theirs includes all the facts which “the Democrat-led investigation has thus far ignored.”
Republican rebuttal to Pelosi
The Republican sponsored January 6 “counter-report” was released on December 21, to coincide with the release of Pelosi’s version of events. They’re radically different.
The “security failures” were a direct result of “political pressure” from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, herself. She bullied the House Sergeant at Arms so hard that the U.S. Capitol Police were left totally “unprepared” for the barbarian violence.
The republican panel of investigators included Jim Banks, Rodney Davis, Jim Jordan, Kelly Armstrong and Troy Nehls.
Unlike the sham Jan 6 report that focused on partisan politics and political payback, House Republicans released a report today that details how we can ensure another Jan 6 never happens again.https://t.co/39E6C0W8Y6

“When Speaker Pelosi made the unprecedented decision to reject Jim Banks and Jim Jordan from sitting on the January 6 Select Committee — we knew she intended to play politics instead of addressing the massive security failures that lead to that day,” their statement begins.
“We said then that we would investigate and get to the bottom of why the Capitol was left so unprepared that day, and what needs to be done to make sure our security apparatus is never left so unprepared again,” they promised. “Unsurprisingly, the Select Committee appears to have spent almost no time on this issue.”
That’s why the republican panel put out their own “report to answer these questions, and to lay groundwork for security reforms as we prepare to lead a safer and more secure Campus in the 118th Congress and beyond.” The FBI and DOJ are in for a high magnitude shake up once the investigations get going.
Leadership and Law Enforcement failures
As spelled out in the Republican report, “leadership and law enforcement failures” made the Capitol “vulnerable” to the possibly “staged” barbarian invasion. “changes to USCP intelligence protocols in the lead-up to January 6” were what “caused confusion and rendered a key USCP component ineffective.”
Former House Sergeant at Arms Paul Irving, they allege, was “compromised by politics,” after “coordinating closely with Pelosi and her staff but leaving GOP lawmakers out of discussions about security.”
Democrats ran the show and now they can take the heat for the failures. They were much more concerned about the “optics” of deploying the National Guard against American nationalists after doing nothing at all to stop the Black Lives Matter looting and Antifa anarchist riots. Along with defunding the police nationwide, they handcuffed Capitol security to send a political message.
House Republicans released a report focused on security failures at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, highlighting well-documented breakdowns in intelligence sharing and coordination between various law enforcement agencies that responded that day. https://t.co/9FrV73Q3e9

“The intelligence failures, coupled with the Capitol Police Board’s failure to request National Guard assistance prior to January 6th, meant the District of Columbia National Guard was not activated, staged, and prepared to quickly respond to an attack on the Capitol.”
“To make matters worse, systemic issues have crippled the security apparatus for years. USCP line officers were under-trained and ill-equipped to protect the Capitol complex. One officer testified to investigators that he went into the fight on January 6, 2021 with nothing but his USCP-issued baseball cap.”
Even if every officer on the force was there that day, “their numbers would still have been insufficient to hold off the rioters due to a lack of training and equipment.” Bottom line, they were “set up to fail, and there have been scant signs of progress toward addressing these weaknesses.“
