Report: The U.S. Govt. Was in on It

Conservative Americans aren’t surprised in the least about a report saying that the U.S. Government was in on the whole “COVID-19 was funded by Fauci” coverup. What really is surprising, is that the documentation comes from the rabidly liberal far-left extremist publication Vanity Fair.

A major report

Liberals will have a hard time denying the report published by their own darling outlet Vanity Fair. The publication conducted a “months long” investigation and held “interviews with more than 40 people” as part of their “review of hundreds of pages of U.S. government documents, including internal memos, meeting minutes, and email correspondence.”

What they found were “conflicts of interest, stemming in part from large government grants supporting controversial virology research.” There were intentional efforts to hamper “the U.S. investigation into COVID-19’s origin at every step.”

According to the report, in “one State Department meeting, officials seeking to demand transparency from the Chinese government say they were explicitly told by colleagues not to explore the Wuhan Institute of Virology’s gain-of-function research.” Why? Because “it would bring unwelcome attention to U.S. government funding of it.”

The meeting was led by Christopher Park, director of the State Department’s Biological Policy Staff, in the Bureau of International Security and Nonproliferation.” Any leaks were sure to “open a can of worms,” he warned in no uncertain terms. One of the meetings attendees relates that Park’s comments were “so nakedly against transparency” as to be “shocking and disturbing.”

The small group specializing in arms control compliance had been studying WIV for months. They acquired “classified intelligence suggesting that three WIV researchers conducting gain-of-function experiments on coronavirus samples had fallen ill in the autumn of 2019, before the COVID-19 outbreak was known to have started.” That report surfaced publicly just last week.

“As officials at the meeting discussed what they could share with the public,” they were advised by Christopher Park something along the lines of “not a thing. Don’t even hint.” Park’s comments “smelled like a cover-up,” Thomas DiNanno, observed. He’s a former acting assistant secretary from the same bureau.

Dr. Deep State says…

Dr. Deep State, Anthony Fauci, has been swearing up and down he wasn’t funding “gain of function” research. That’s lab-speak for splicing genes together to make an organism do things it couldn’t do before. When he got caught with a whole bunch of incriminating emails, he backed that off to not “directly” funding such research.

He sent lots of money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, through grants to the nonprofit group EcoHealth Alliance. “$600,000 in U.S. taxpayer dollars” between 2014 and 2019 but it was used for less sinister research. “The purpose of studying bat-based coronaviruses.” Oh, that makes it alright then. Vanity Fair’s report says he’s lying again. There seems to be a real good reason he did it that way. “That funding was not subject to a Department of Health and Human Services review board that could have rejected the grant.”

report

It turns out that the money “was distributed during a government moratorium on gain-of-function research.” They did it quietly, without fuss. They had to. “If you ban gain-of-function research, you ban all of virology,” an NIH official reportedly said.

“Ever since the moratorium, everyone’s gone wink-wink and just done gain-of-function research anyway.” The report notes that “WIV also received $559,000 from the United States Agency for International Development.” Also, it seems that Christopher Park wasn’t the only official trying to cover up the lab leak theory.

As related by former Secretary DiNanno, “an intelligence analyst struggled to find a report written by officials working at a Department of Energy lab.” They found it “intentionally buried within the classified collections system.” Officials at the Department of Energy “then attempted to block State Department officials from meeting with the report’s authors.”

The one playing gatekeeper is identified as Acting Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Chris Ford. He “repeatedly downplayed the lab-leak hypothesis to DiNanno and other researchers.” He went out of his way to argue that “officials should not view the Chinese People’s Liberation Army’s ‘involvement in classified virus research [a]s intrinsically problematic, since the U.S. Army has been deeply involved in virus research in the United States for many years.'”
