Well, well, well…
Guess who urged Joe Biden to run for office to take out Donald Trump?
It would be none other than our old friend Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT).
You Have to Run
According to “The Long Alliance: The Imperfect Union of Joe Biden and Barack Obama,” a book by Gabriel Debenedetti, Biden and Romney got together for a bit of a backslapping session during an E2 Summit in Utah.
The book states, “At one point he connected with Mitt Romney, who’d been easily elected to the Senate that night as a rare Trump-opposing Republican.
“They were warm as Biden cheered Romney’s win.
“Then Obama’s old rival got to the point: You have to run, Romney said.”
Joe was just as kind to Romney, encouraging him to run for the Senate.
Romney did, and he has been a thorn in the side of the Republican Party ever since.
That little chat may also explain why Romney has crossed the aisle to hand Joe Biden several wins he never should have had while in office.
Every time Senator McConnell (R-KY) needs a few traitors to cross the political line, the first person he calls is Romney.
If Mitt’s career was not over before that book came out, I would be willing to bet it is now.
