After getting caught breaking into a home in northern Michigan, a man took off into the woods, and later had to call 911 after getting lost.
Police were called to a home in Williamsburg, Michigan at approximately 7:05 p.m. on October 6th.
A woman had been watching television in her home when a man walked into the room who she assumed was her husband. After realizing it was a stranger, she began screaming, causing her husband to come running down the stairs telling the man to leave.
The home invader, later identified as Kevin William Tighe, 43, was scared off, and ran to hide nearby in his parents’ backyard, where Michigan State Police troopers found him. When one trooper attempted to speak with him, he ran off into the woods.
A K-9 team was sent in to look for Tighe, but they were unable to locate him.
Later that night, Tighe called 911 to report being lost. When troopers were dispatched to his location, he flagged them down and was promptly arrested.
Tighe has been charged with breaking and entering without permission, and resisting and obstructing police. He is in custody and is being held in the Grand Traverse County Jail. Tighe has a criminal history in Grand Traverse County, including multiple DUI’s.
