Influence peddling? It’s just the normal way of doing business inside the beltway. Everyone doing it makes it alright, just like cocaine, cannabis or sodomy. So, just lighten up on Hunter Biden, liberals say. According to Steve Hilton, a former director of strategy for British Prime Minister David Cameron who lives in California now, the political drama swirling around the Biden family should be an open and shut airtight case. It would be on any of the network series fantasies. In real life, the crime gets swept under the rug and ignored.
Influence mystery solved, sort of
It’s cool, I’m practically on the right hand of God. That’s exactly how Hunter Biden portrayed how much influence he has with his father. The one who used to be Vice-President and now thinks he’s the real thing. As Steve Hilton points out, when we see a killer on TV standing over the bloody body with a warm smoking gun and a shaking hand, it’s a pretty good bet the cops have the culprit.
When that sort of high drama plays out in real life it’s supposed to be a big deal. There are exceptions, they say, to every rule. Hunter Biden is one of them. At least as far as the media is concerned. He gets a pass. Just like Hillary Clinton did.
DailyMail broke the news about a really damaging voicemail message recording archived on Hunter Biden’s notorious laptop. On December 12, 2018, Joe Biden wanted to have a chat with his errant offspring.
It’s okay to call, I won’t have you killed or anything, he hinted in between the words. Joe read that “article that had just been published by the New York Times about Hunter.” He didn’t see anything that couldn’t be doctored. Hunter, he confirmed “was good” and was “clear.” Clear of apparent influence peddling. That Times article “touched on Hunter’s business relationship with a notorious Chinese criminal, Ye Jianming.” Doesn’t that seem just a touch like Joe discussing Hunter’s business dealings? It does to DailyMail.
Ye just happened to run “Chinese state-owned oil giant, CEFC.” In his spare time, he “had suspected ties to Beijing’s intelligence agency.” Well, he did. Until “he was exposed as a fraud and disappeared.” Disappeared is used as a verb in that case, as in made to disappear.
When Ye’s top lieutenant was soon arrested by U.S. authorities, he dialed the number of James Biden, Joe’s Brother, trying to get Hunter on the horn. If that’s not peddling influence, what is? The media doesn’t see any. Neither does the Federal Bureau of Instigation and they’re supposed to be looking.
It’s obvious that Joe and Hunter were both nervous about the fallout from that little fiasco. That’s the context behind the voice mail. “Hey pal, it’s Dad. It’s 8:15 on Wednesday night. If you get a chance just give me a call. Nothing urgent. I just wanted to talk to you.”
Get a chance. that’s code for half an hour ago. Nothing urgent. I won’t have you killed. Call me so I can ream you a new one though and we need to cover damage control. Avoid influence peddling charges by insulating Joe from Ye. “I thought the article released online, it’s going to be printed tomorrow in the Times, was good. I think you’re clear. And anyway, if you get a chance give me a call, I love you.” Where are you? Out smoking crack? If you’re screening calls pick the thing up… Okay, maybe you are gone.
The latest propaganda minister Karine Jean-Pierre got stuck trying to spin this one to the left. She didn’t just spin, she went beyond lying all the way to “cover-up.” She’s covering up for the entire family. They all found ways to cash in on their influence with Joe. Apparently, all with Joe’s blessing, as long as he got his cut.
Hunter’s uncle James and uncle Frank also “found ways to cash in on Joe’s years in politics – from lucrative contracts linked to America’s military presence in Iraq to telecoms contracts in the Caribbean.” Karine refuses to admit the laptop even exists.
While Hunter was sitting on the board of a gas company in the Ukraine, with no qualifications, he didn’t peddle his influence. Even though at that time, Joe Biden was put in charge of Ukraine policy.
When “Joe was sent to China by President Obama to negotiate with the Communist regime,” Hunter “tagged along – to negotiate lucrative side deals.” One scandal after another but they aren’t crimes if nobody wants to prosecute them.
