Pete Hegseth just created a massive tsunami in the Pentagon with the media.
There is a new policy in place that is removing legacy media outlets from the Pentagon offices.
Now, the four offices that were dedicated to legacy media will be rotated on an annual basis.
You Need to Leave
Currently, The New York Times, NBC News, NPR, and Politico all have office space in the Pentagon.
That space must be vacated by February 14, as One America News Network, Breitbart, the New York Post, and HuffPost will be taking over.
And before anyone accuses Hegseth of loading the offices with right-wing websites, the HuffPost is progressive, so there goes that argument.
The only one of those I really have a problem with is One America News Network, as the network has little exposure and is a Trump echo chamber.
I know people will cry about Breitbart, but there is no argument at all for having the New York Post there, as the outlet has proven it has been one of the more honest outlets since 2016.
I have not seen comments by the other outlets yet, but NPR was fuming, having stated, “More than 40 million Americans depend on NPR for daily news about their communities and the world.
“This decision interferes with the ability of millions of Americans to directly hear from Pentagon leadership, and with NPR’s public interest mission to serve Americans who turn to our network of local public media stations in all 50 states.
“NPR will continue to report with vigor and integrity on the transformation this Administration has promised to deliver.
“NPR urges the Pentagon to expand the offices available to press within the building so that all outlets covering the Pentagon receive equal access.”
I am all for them all having offices at the Pentagon… if they pay for them.
I am sure there are plenty of empty offices, so let’s drive some income by making them all pay for their spaces. Are you listening, Mr. Musk?
