Even CNN is shocked at the boldness of the Biden regime to change the rules in the middle of the game. For as long as anyone can remember, two quarters of shrinking GDP in a row means “recession.” The Imperial Palace has decreed that is way too simple a description, when it pertains to them.
Change the definition
One of those panel discussions on CNN broke through the thin ice of partisan political separation to slam Joe Biden’s handlers for their “attempt to change the definition of a recession.”
The palace hit the panic button when the latest numbers warned of brewing disaster.
On Thursday, the economic report card is expected to show how much of a failure Joe is. Everyone expects the numbers to prove “the U.S. economy shrank for two consecutive quarters, which has long been how economists defined what a recession is.”

Not so fast, progressives parry. They have a way to change that. Several “White House officials have already pushed their talking points as a preemptive spin on the likely bad headlines they will face.”
Fox News relates how viewers of The Lead on Monday, July 25, were treated to an unusual discussion kicked off by CNN anchor Kasie Hunt.
She’s “struggling” with what she’s hearing from the Imperial Palace. “I get that why they want to do it from a political perspective, but like, you can’t fake this!” Progressives complaining about their own propaganda for a change. That’s a shocker.
In my view
Another of CNN’s perky personalities, Chris Cillizza, “mocked” Imperial Leader Biden for daring to claim, “we’re not going to be in a recession, in my view.” What a joke. “‘In my view,‘ I should be drafted into the NBA. It doesn’t really matter what you think,” Cillizza gasped.
“There is a technical definition, two straight quarters of negative economic growth. They clearly believe that is likely to come to pass later this week. They’re trying to pre-but it.” Just change the game as you go.
Loyal liberal Cillizza calmed down enough to explain, “we get why they’re doing it politically, at the same time, we have these terms for reasons.”
Joe has no clue why his poll numbers are dropping, even with Democrats. He gets better numbers when all he does is visit the ice cream shop. Even Democrats get this issue which is a pleasant, if suspicious, change.
“You don’t have to like it. Of course, they don’t like it because, you know, Joe Biden’s handling of the economy was at 25% or 30% in our most recent poll.” Understanding why it’s being done and rubber stamping approval are two different things, even for progressives.
“Yeah, it’s a problem for them – this adds to the problem, but you don’t get to change the nomenclature in the middle of a campaign because it doesn’t work for you.“
