On his new podcast series with far-left musician Bruce Springsteen, Barack Obama is once again blaming white people for his failure as a president.
Obama Failed
Obama’s presidency was a failure, and he did nothing for the black community.
Even CNN had to admit that “a majority of Americans say relations between blacks and whites in the US have worsened under President Barack Obama.”
Of course, to Obama, white people are to blame for this. The left believes him, despite evidence to the contrary. If white people were the reason why race relations got worse under a black president, then why did race relations get better under a white president?
Contrary to what the mainstream media wants people to believe, a Gallup poll in January of 2020 showed “a double-digit increase (14%) in the state of race relations since President Donald Trump took office,” as reported by The Daily Wire.
Gallup reported that “the position of blacks and other racial minorities, the distribution of income and wealth, and the opportunity for a person to get ahead through hard work” all increased under President Trump.
Trump clearly did better than Obama on race relations, yet Obama still believes that his presidency would have succeeded if white people hadn’t sabotaged him.
Blaming White People
According to Obama, reparations are “justified,” but were a “non-starter” while he was president due to the “politics of white resistance and resentment.”
“So, if you ask me theoretically: ‘Are reparations justified?’ The answer is yes,” Obama said.
“There’s not much question that the wealth of this country, the power of this country was built in significant part — not exclusively, maybe not even the majority of it — but a large portion of it was built on the backs of slaves,” he added.
“What I saw during my presidency,” he continued,” was the politics of white resistance and resentment, the talk of welfare queens and the talk of the undeserving poor and the backlash against affirmative action. All that made the prospect of actually proposing any kind of coherent, meaningful reparations program struck me as, politically, not only a non-starter but potentially counterproductive.”
Now, one of the only true pieces of Obama’s statement is that reparations are “counterproductive.” The idea of forcing white people who never owned slaves to give their hard-earned money to black people who never were slaves, is absolutely counterproductive and, in itself, racist. How would they determine who gets the money? Would everyone have to take a DNA test? Would a black person who just moved to the United States from Africa be eligible for the money? Would Muslims have to pay reparations because the slave trade still exists in some Muslim countries? One of the first legally recognized slaves in the American colonies was owned by a black person, would the descendants of this black slave owner have to pay reparations to the descendants of the slave their ancestor owned? Would white people who don’t have any slave-owning ancestors still have to pay reparations? How will all of these questions be addressed?
Civil rights attorney Leo Terrell tweeted about Obama’s comments, writing: “Obama is pandering to Socialists by supporting reparations. Not a single dime of taxpayers’ money should be awarded because of slavery. The concept is racist and unconstitutional. Just another attempt by Socialists to play the ‘white guilt card.'”
