Well, the Supreme Court has let conservatives down.
While we assumed the Supreme Court would reject the case, we were still hoping it would intervene and rule that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. needed to be removed from the ballot.
But the court rejected the case, so he will remain on the ballot in two key battleground states.
Rejected
Kennedy had made an emergency appeal to the court to have his name removed from the Michigan and Wisconsin ballots.
He withdrew from the race roughly two weeks after Biden, but in both states, officials refused to remove his name even though there was plenty of time to do so.
Courts have been all over the place on this, with Kennedy initially believing he was going to win the case, but as this worked its way through the appeals process, the courts ruled in favor of the state keeping him on the ballot.
Kennedy’s final appeal was to the Supreme Court, which failed.
This is what I do not understand…
While I do get that absentee ballots have already been issued, and early voting is underway, roughly 60% of the country will be voting on election day, so why not get the ballot right, at least for that?
All we ever hear about are free and fair elections, so can anyone explain to me what is fair about having someone on the ballot that withdrew from the race about three months ago?
The only reason these states wanted Kennedy on the ballot is because Kennedy draws more votes from Trump than he does Harris.
In reality, regardless of who Kennedy was drawing from, in order for this election not to be questioned, he should have been removed, with only candidates still in the race remaining on the ballot. I would say that regardless of who was benefitting from Kennedy remaining on the ballot.
There is nothing fair about this decision, period.
