During the 2020 election cycle, one of the biggest stories, or what should have been a big story, was buried.
Donald Trump was mocked, the mainstream media ignored the story, with some reporters, such as Lesley Stahl, openly pushing back on the laptop being verified.
Former CBS News reporter Catherine Herridge, who was fired by the network, just came forward to tell her full story on how her story was buried for nearly two years.
They Killed It
Herridge is one of the few honest reporters in the mainstream media. She actually reported the news, unlike most anchors and reporters, who prefer to dictate the news to meet their narrative.
Herridge was actually investigating the laptop in real-time for CBS News, and even brought the story to Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews, an executive at CBS News, and anchor Norah O’Donnell, but they story was shelved.
In fact, CBS News would not air the report for two years while its anchors were leaning into the letter by 51 former intelligence officials claiming it was Russian disinformation, while never having actually inspected the laptop itself.
Herridge explained, “As I watched the broadcast, I felt sick. I knew the laptop records could be vetted and confirmed.
“I told Ciprian-Matthews the vetted materials included a million dollar retainer from a Chinese energy firm, emails with Hunter Biden’s former business partner Tony Bobulinski as well as Hunter Biden text messages.
“Asked by Ciprian-Matthews if there was a ‘Hunter connection,’ I responded, ‘Yes, all of them.’”
Polling after the fact made it clear that had that story been released, it would have flipped a significant percentage of voters, possibly giving Trump a win.
This is why a biased media can be dangerous to democracy.
