Well-known Democrat operative Guillermina Fuentes accepted the guilty plea she was offered by state prosecutors. That means she admits she illegally collected early ballots related to 2020’s primary election in Arizona. She’s really happy that the “more serious” charges went away. The ones for forgery and conspiracy. That means she won’t be getting the lengthy prison sentence she deserves.
Democrat ballot box stuffing
The liberal tactic of ballot box stuffing is nothing new. So many people believe the cliché “dead people always vote Democrat” that CNN actually ran an article “fact checking” it. Their conclusion is that dead people occasionally vote Republican, too. So, officially, that’s been debunked.
One thing that not a single progressive can deny now is the fact 66-year-old Guillermina Fuentes ran “a sophisticated operation” to “persuade voters to let her gather and in some cases fill out their ballots.”
On Thursday, June 2, Fuentes accepted her agreement to plead guilty and get a slap on the wrist. The state let her off lightly and she expects simple probation.
She allegedly used her status as a well-known operative in the Democrat party to take advantage of the city of San Luis. She only got lucky because prosecutors had a hard time proving the heavy duty charges. Three felony counts fell off the table.
She won’t be punished for things like filling out ballots on her own and illegally forging the signatures of voters.
The Democrat side of the aisle at the national level is breathing a heavy sigh of relief that nothing is going to splatter back on them out of this.
Only small town politics
Those of the Democrat persuasion are ecstatic that Republicans weren’t vindicated with proof of widespread election fraud in the 2020 cycle.
They all have been holding their breath over that one. What Fuentes did is seen as “part of a broader pattern in battleground states.” At least they were able to build a wall around this incident and call it a case of “small-town politics.”
It was just a little “ballot harvesting,” CNN writes. Fuentes and a second Democrat were indicted on “ballot abuse.” Why, that wasn’t even illegal in Arizona until 2016.
Fuentes was smart enough not to say much at her change of plea hearing in Yuma county. When the judge asked if she read and understood the deal, she simply replied, “yes.”
At one time, Fuentes served as mayor of San Luis. She also holds down a spot on the Gadsden Elementary School District. The disgraced Democrat could still be sentenced to as much as two years in prison but only if the judge decides to throw the book at her.
He also would have to justify it with “aggravating circumstances.” It’s much more likely the judge will sentence a combination of “probation, home confinement and a hefty fine.“
