Charges Being DROPPED… Trump CELEBRATES

Donald Trump has regularly stated that he looks at the people who rioted at the Capitol on January 6 as patriots.

He believes many of them were overcharged and over-sentenced.

He will be happy to know in nearly half the cases that remained, the obstruction charges have been dropped.

Can’t Charge Them

When the Supreme Court narrowed the definition of obstruction, we all knew it was going to present challenges for prosecutors.

Currently, more than 100 cases from the riot are pending, with about half of them having obstruction charges that were dropped.

However, the DOJ notes that of those cases, none of them were only facing obstruction charges, so they are still going to face charges.

There are also cases that were already tried and sentenced that will now have to be reviewed.

Regarding those cases, the DOJ stated, “There are zero cases where a defendant was charged only for violating 18 U.S.C. § 1512.

“In other words, even if the government foregoes this charge, every charged defendant will continue to face exposure to other criminal charges.”

Many of them could also see pardons if Trump is elected to office.

He has made it quite clear that he will have his own team review all of these cases to see which would qualify for pardon.

If Trump does do that, expect Democrats to respond by trying to impeach him again for giving aid and comfort to insurrectionists.

This is not a good look for the DOJ, however, as it seems as though Garland was trying to make an example of these people while allowing the rioters during the George Floyd riots to walk away scot-free.

When you compare the damage that was done to cities during those riots to the J6 riots and the lack of prosecutions, well, it seems pretty apparent that the scales of justice are tilted.
