Speculation surrounding who former President Donald Trump may be considering for his potential vice president pick has been a topic of conversation for many months. Now, after the speakership battle came to a close, the guessing game for VP pick has gained traction once more, as another new name was added to the mix.
The Republican field already has several highly qualified and accomplished candidates, making it difficult to narrow down who might be joining the former president in his bid for office. Fox News host Maria Bartiromo interviewed Florida Congressman Byron Donalds (R-FL) and asked him about his thoughts on this short list of potential partners, as well as his own aspirations.
Rep. Donalds was asked if he would accept the position of vice president if Trump offered it to him. He responded graciously saying he would be honored to join forces with the former president in order to get our country back on track—no matter what role he may have.
Donalds stated, “We’re going to get back to work and do our jobs. With respect to being potentially on the ticket, that’s really up to the president. I have no control over that. The only thing I’ll say is I just want to do whatever I can to get our country on track. That’s what I’ve always been committed to. So no matter what the role is, it’s about getting our country back on track.”
In addition, Rep. Donalds congratulated newly appointed House Speaker Mike Johnson who is said to be reinvigorating the impeachment inquiry into Joe Biden. According to Rep. Donalds “the crime and cover up are equally as bad” and accountability is coming for Joe Biden’s alleged criminal activity within his family.
Other Republicans rumored for Trump’s ticket include North Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, fellow presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, and Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia.
