The social justice minded socialites who were victims of armed robbery Friday evening don’t mind doing their part for the underprivileged members of the swanky Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles, they just hope somebody does something about it before it gets out of hand and someone gets hurt.
Armed but that’s okay
What was supposed to be a “holiday celebration,” because it’s illegal to call it a “Christmas Party” in progressive California, had two uninvited and well armed guests who “confronted partygoers.”
On Friday, December 3, they were burgling the posh pad while an outdoor affair twinkled around the poolside patio. Guests and host alike were oblivious to the intrusion. That is, until a few of the guests wandered inside.
The robbers may have been armed but at least they appear to have been polite. Maybe it wasn’t a case of “I’ll be your robber today. May I take your wallet, sir? Your watch, miss?” but they were reasonable as far as criminals go, these days.
“No one was physically harmed, but they’re concerned that things may get worse if these types of crimes continue,” the victims lament. They’re planning to write the jewelry, phones, cash and other valuables off on their taxes as a contribution to Black Lives Matter and everyone will be happy.
Similar to other robberies in the area, there seems to be a “spate of property crime in affluent Los Angeles-area neighborhoods” for some strange reason that has nothing to do with defunded police.
The LA Times reports that the two “armed robbery suspects entered the residence and interrupted party festivities when they demanded that at least two guests turn over their valuables, including jewelry and electronics.” “It’s more frustrating than it is scary,” the owner relates. “I feel lucky that no one got hurt.”
An embarrassed homeowner
The homeowner was too embarrassed by the incident to release any names but told reporters he/she/it/they “only realized the home was being burgled when two guests went inside the home to retrieve some of their personal belongings.”
That’s when they “were confronted by two male suspects who were reportedly armed with guns.”
After loading up with jewelry, iPhones, and an Apple watch from the two women, they left. The armed robbers decided it wouldn’t be proper for them to be grazing the buffet when the police arrived to take statements, so politely declined the invitation to remain and join the party.
The Los Angeles Police Department claims that “the suspects fled the scene after the confrontation, and were gone by the time police arrived.” They don’t have a clue. “There is no information on the suspects.” They don’t want to know. ”
The host may be understanding about the armed robbery but is also getting “unsettled.” They “reportedly tried on several occasions to turn over security footage which apparently showed the suspects walking through the home’s front door, but has been unable to get in touch with the department in order to continue an investigation into the incident.”
Not only that, “a detective was supposed to call the women who were robbed, but that hasn’t happened yet, either.”
