A new “mutated” version of COVID-19 is spreading around the globe. London is going into its strictest lockdown yet. This virus is far from finished.
COVID-19 mutation causes mass hysteria
Just when you thought we were nearing the end of the COVID hysteria, they move the goal post on us. Some Americans cheered at the approval of several vaccines, hoping this would be the end of the pandemic and life could get back to normal again soon. But no, not so fast there. Now scientists are claiming the virus has mutated and is even more contagious than before.
The mutated virus strain was discovered in the U.K. and Prime Minister Boris Johnson quickly called for a strict lockdown in London in order to stop the spread. Scientists claim the new virus strain has been discovered with 23 mutations. Some doctors are concerned the vaccines will not be effective in guarding against the new mutations of the virus. The new strain, which scientists are calling VUI 202012/01, is currently under investigation.
“We don’t have any particular reason to think that immunizing with the present vaccines is going to be less effective against the different variants that are circulating, including VUI 202012/01,” said Dr. Adam Finn, professor of pediatrics at Imperial College London, in a briefing to reporters on Monday.
So this new strain of corona means someone living in London is banned from traveling 50 miles to see their granny in Brighton.
But people from all over the world can fly in, get infected, then export it to every corner of the globe because our borders are still wide open. pic.twitter.com/KnkydMEZjA

People flee London before virus lockdowns
There have been 23 documented changes to the virus in this particular strain, 17 of which might be important because they could affect the virus’ behavior. Eight of these alterations are related to the spike protein, the part of the virus that it uses to infect cells.
The spike protein is the part of the virus that vaccines from Pfizer and BioNTech, Moderna, and AstraZeneca all target to protect people against COVID-19 — the disease caused by the virus. But experts in the US and UK have reassured the public that the new variant is unlikely to stop the vaccines from working.
Dr Fauci has already warned us that the lockdowns, mask mandates and social distancing should continue, despite the large scale vaccine roll out in the United States. The vaccine is delivered in two shots, and experts warn that it might not be 100% effective. Now some doctors are claiming the vaccine will need to be reformulated every year. Regardless, it’s clear that COVID-19 and the ridiculous lockdown measures are going to be part of our lives for the foreseeable future.
