The gig may be up for Trump’s Truth Social.
Reports broke on Tuesday that the app has been refused on the Google Play store.
Without android access, it is very unlikely that the social media app will be able to survive.
Banned for Violence
CEO Devin Nunes recently stated that the app was ready to go, only waiting for approval.
Well, that is not going to happen.
A Google Play representative stated, “On August 19 we notified Truth Social of several violations of standard policies in their current app submission and reiterated that having effective systems for moderating user-generated content is a condition of our terms of service for any app to go live on Google Play.”
The platform has been having challenges from the outset, only recently able to get its desktop version working.
Without android access, however, I doubt the investors are going to come on board.
Truth Social’s main selling point to users is free speech, but in order to get on Google Play, it will have to clamp down on moderation.
I would suspect the outlet will make an effort to pacify Google Play, but this is devasting for Trump.
