All of our living ex-presidents, except Donald Trump, have something in common.
Actually, the man currently sitting in the Oval Office is also guilty of this in his family’s past.
What is that shameful commonality?
Their families have all owned slaves.
Pay Those Reparations
You guys all know how I feel about reparations.
How can our government force people to pay for something of which they never had anything to do with?
If you want to pay reparations, fine, but make those responsible pay and leave the rest of us alone.
If that is the case, Jimmy Carter, George Bush, Bill Clinton, Joe Biden, and yes, even Barack Obama, will be cutting checks.
A recent investigation by Reuters found that every one of those men mentioned above had family members that owned slaves.
For Obama, it was his mother’s side of the family that had slaves.
Biden’s roots go back to the owning of a slave in 1850 who was only 14 years old.
A Politico report also noted that Biden’s grand grandfather owned slaves (via an 1800 census).
Donald Trump is excluded from this group because his family did not arrive in this country until after slavery was abolished.
Funny how the man that Democrats constantly hammer as racist is the only one without roots in slave ownership.
