The Russian bombs missed by “hours” but the surprising thing is that Kremlin spies knew at all. If Vladimir Putin found out any sooner that Blinky Blinken, Lloyd Austin and their entourage were traveling by train, to a low-key meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky, they would be toast.
Bombs strike rail stations
Various outlets are reporting on Monday, April 25, that rail stations in central and western Ukraine were hit by Russian bombs “just hours after two of America’s top officials visited Kyiv by rail.”
The strikes come as Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin “used railways in the region to travel to Kyiv and meet with President Volodymyr Zelensky.”
Ukrainian media reports that Russian bombs and missiles hit stations “in the Lviv, Rivne, Vinnyista and Kyiv regions,” during the early morning hours.
One station was in the town of Krasne, remarkably only “70 miles from the border with Poland.” Unconfirmed reports note that more blasts were heard in Zhmerynka.
Officials don’t want to say a whole lot but Alexander Kamyshin, the head of Ukraine’s rail service, relates that “the strikes had all come within an hour of one-another on Monday and had caused casualties.”
News of bombs falling so close to the Polish border “will be seen as a warning from the Kremlin to the West” that they knew which hobos were riding the rails Monday morning.
Back in Poland by then
Now that the bombs have stopped falling, leakers are admitting that the incognito bigwigs slipped across the border for a meeting “thought to have taken place between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. local time before they returned to Poland.”
Blinky is reportedly the one who let it slip they were traveling by rail when talking to reporters.
Since the Kremlin didn’t know the specific route, they dropped bombs all along “the main line from Poland into Ukraine.” Defense Secretary Austin and State Department head Blinken are the “highest-level American delegation to have gone to Kyiv since war with Russia broke out more than two months ago.”
It’s seen as “a major embarrassment to the Kremlin which had planned to be in control of the Ukrainian capital by now.”
Putin’s little bouquet of bombs shows that he’s miffed. Every day, it appears more likely that most of his generals lied to him.
What isn’t clear is whether that was intentional or just incompetence. It could be the Deep State’s method of getting another staunch nationalist out of the way.
