A big story was immunity being given to the Crown Prince over the death of Jamal Khashoggi.

Joe Biden campaigned on holding him accountable, but filed to give him immunity.

There was outrage throughout the country on both sides of the aisle, but not from Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR).

    Break from Custom

When the filing was made, the State Department justified the move by stating that “purely a legal determination” with long-standing legal precedent.

Senator Cotton agreed, stating that “would have been a major break from those customs to not grant that kind of immunity.”

If our intelligence agencies are correct, the Prince gave the thumbs up to have Khashoggi murdered.

Yet, simply because he is a head of state, he gets a free pass?

I will never understand this blanket diplomatic immunity garbage.

Cotton added, “What I would say is Saudi Arabia is far from the world’s worst abuser of human rights.

“You look at what’s been happening in Iran for the last three months, for instance, and the way they’ve massacred protesters in the streets or what China does to harvest organs or to commit genocide against religious and ethnic minorities.”

What does that have to do with the fact that the Crown Price ordering the murder of a journalist?

Cotton continued to justify this, stating, “What matters most about governments around the world is less whether they’re democratic or not democratic and more whether they’re pro-American or anti-American.

“The simple fact is Saudi Arabia has been an American partner going back 80 years.”

Oh, thanks for explaining, so if you are pro-American, you can have anyone you want murdered, and their families are powerless to do anything about it.

    Thanks for clearing that up.
