You just have to love Senator Rand Paul (R-KY).
Even though he and Senate Minority Leader McConnell (R-KY) hail from the same state, they could not be further apart when it comes to government spending.
McConnell openly supported the massive spending bill and somehow got 17 other Republican senators, including Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR), to back the bill.
Rand Paul, however, used his annual Festivus rant to expose just how much wasteful spending was included in the bill.
More Debt…
Paul’s annual rant exposed “a whopping $482,276,543,907” worth of federal waste.
In his annual address, he stated, “Who’s to blame? One need not look further than the $3.5 trillion that the big government politicians in Congress spent on the so-called Inflation Reduction Act, which ultimately does nothing to truly combat rising inflation rates.
“Worse, those same big spenders have just teamed up to pass a pork-laden $1.9 trillion omnibus spending package for 2023, released in the dead of night, and voted into law without anyone having read it.”
The examples of wasteful spending include a study about Thanos.
Yes, Thanos from “Guardians of the Galaxy.”
The administration gave $118,000 to the National Science Foundation to investigate Thanos and the Infinity Glove.
For that money, they concluded that it was unlikely that Thanos could actually snap his fingers with the glove on.
Money well spent…
