Teamsters President Sean O’Brien shocked everyone when he allowed Donald Trump to address the rank and file.
He said he wanted membership input into who they wanted to endorse for president.
Well, membership spoke, only O’Brien reneged on his word and refused to endorse anyone in this cycle.
Don’t Upset the Democrats
O’Brien had a late meeting with Harris to see if the Teamsters were going to endorse her.
Harris assumed this endorsement would be automatic, especially after the administration recently bailed out the corrupt unions with trillions of dollars in taxpayer money to reload their pension funds.
This is after unions like the Teamsters spend hundreds of millions of dollars on Democrat campaign donations and millions for leadership salaries.
If you just look at the Teamsters, their top two guys make nearly $1 million collectively, and they have hundreds of management members making six figures, yet they are taking our tax dollars to load up their pensions that have been depleted through corruption and mismanagement.
The Teamsters took two surveys among members, and both of them overwhelmingly supported Trump by about a 2:1 ratio.
Yet, in announcing that the Teamsters were not going to back a candidate, union leadership stated there was no clear favorite.
After the non-endorsement was announced, the Harris campaign went nuclear, calling out the union for not endorsing her after her record of support for union labor.
Her campaign stated, “While Donald Trump says striking workers should be fired, Vice President Harris has literally walked the picket line and stood strong with organized labor for her entire career.
“The Vice President’s strong union record is why Teamsters locals across the country have already endorsed her — alongside the overwhelming majority of organized labor.”
Meanwhile, Trump posted that even though the union leadership did not support him, rank and file did, which caught everyone off guard.
Make no mistake about it: this is a crushing blow to Harris as her campaign slowly but surely loses momentum.
