Firebombing Lawyers Get Slap on Wrist

These weren’t just any criminal defendants, they were supposed to represent the law itself, in the role of lawyers. Instead, they were heavily involved with firebombing a police car. They got away with a bare minimum slap on the wrist simply because they did it in the middle of one of thosepeaceful protests” Democrats are well known for.

Lawyers ignore the law

Anarchist lawyers are a contradiction in terms. You can be an anarchist, who says there aren’t any rules, or you can be a lawyer who insists that rules are absolute.

Usually, you can’t be both. Apparently in New York State, you can. They don’t seem to mind the ethical conflict of interest presented by a Bar certified attorney throwing a Molotov cocktail into a New York City police vehicle. The worst part is that these two pretty much got away with it.

Colinford Mattis and Urooj Rahman were looking at up to 30 years in jail on domestic terrorism charges until Joe Biden’s liberal Department of Injustice “agreed to a massive reduction of the charges in a plea agreement that will likely result only in a couple years of jail time.

The really shocking thing is that they already had an agreement. It just wasn’t as sweet as this one. These lawyers really hit the legal jackpot.

The prosecutors had already submitted evidence the lawbreaking lawyers “were trying to distribute Molotov cocktails.” Mattis, they argue didn’t even appear rational. That doesn’t keep him from practicing law so it doesn’t matter in this court either.

Both had been let out on bail until the the Second Circuit declared that was improper considering the charges and had them stuffed back in a cell.

A nosebleed drop

The latest twist in the terrible tale comes as both lawyers are allowed to cancel out the previous plea deal and take a new one. This time they’re only admitting “conspiring to assemble the Molotov cocktail and damage the New York Police Department patrol car.

Jonathan Turley suggests that’s “a nosebleed of a drop in the severity and punishment for this violent attack.” The January 6 committee is going to throw the book at all the deplorables but torching a cop car is no big deal to democrats.

Rahman was actually caught red handed on video surveillance “throwing the firebomb and then fleeing the scene.” Mattis “was accused of having a store of firebombs in his vehicle and was videotaped as he attempted to hand them out to other rioters to fuel further violence.

The Antifa® sponsored “peaceful protest” was totally justified, Rahman insists. The court agrees that “the only way they hear us is through violence.” That makes it okay for lawyers to torch symbols of authority.

The previous plea deal would have actually inconvenienced them some. The earlier charges looked like “excessive sentencing” for the heretic lawyers. Instead, the justice system is supporting “a maximum sentence of five years with a recommendation of between 18 to 24 months imprisonment.

The good news is that both of them had their bar tickets pulled. “Both lawyers will be permanently disbarred and will have to pay restitution to the city of New York.
