Former Chinese President Hu Jintao was dragged away from the Communist Party Congress on Saturday, and possibly “disappeared.” They aren’t saying a single word about it, as expected. In the rest of the world, speculation is running wild.
Former President ‘removed’
Every instant of the Chinese Communist Party Congress is choreographed in the tiniest detail. Obviously, whatever happened to Former President Hu Jintao was not in the script.
Everyone seemed to know what was happening except for Xi’s 79-year-old predecessor. The incident occurred during the closing ceremony.
As expected, Former President Hu was prominently seated beside Xi Jinping, to his right. Suddenly, “what appeared to be security officials approached him and forced him to leave his seat.” He clearly didn’t want to go.
Video footage shows “an official attempting to forcibly lift Hu from his seat as Xi turned to him. Hu then placed his hand on a sheet of paper on top of Xi’s folder but the Chinese president then quickly put his hand on the sheet to prevent him taking it.”
China’s top legislator Li Zhanshu, seated to Hu’s left, proved he was in on the operation when he “handed the security official Hu’s folder.”
Once Hu had risen, “Li then wiped his forehead with a cloth.” Helping send a former president off to the labor camps makes one nervous.
Xi tries to ignore it
The Pooh Bear did his best to ignore what was happening right next to him. “Xi did not directly watch as Hu was removed from his seat, but instead sat with his head tilted listening to what was unfolding.”
It was obvious that President Hu knew he was “being taken for a ride” and didn’t want to go. He touched Xi on the back of the arm and said something. It’s not clear what Xi said back but seems to be something along the lines of “just go quietly.”
As expected, “no explanation has been given as to what was said or why Hu was forced the leave the ceremony.”

Every bit of drama regarding the former president was scrubbed from official state media. It never happened. This particular ceremony wrapped up the proceedings.
Also as expected, Xi got his “unprecedented” third term as President of the Chinese Communist Party. In reality, he’s basically made himself “emperor for life.” He eliminated all of his opposition, too.
CNN reports “The line-up of the Standing Committee will be revealed Sunday, one day after the close of the Congress. Xi, who is widely seen to have cemented power by eliminating rivals and dampening the lingering influence of party elders, is expected to be re-confirmed as party chief in a norm-breaking move and surround himself with allies.” Next on the agenda, Taiwan.
