Joe Biden just took some steam out of the attacks of Kamala Harris against Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
Harris, who has never been involved in recovery efforts, suddenly wants to be front and center.
She slammed DeSantis for snubbing her call, but Joe Biden just shot down her entire narrative.
All I Know…
Harris has been all over DeSantis, calling him “irresponsible” and “selfish,” which is utterly ridiculous.
She further stated, “People are in desperate need of support right now. And playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations, these are the height of the emergency situations.”
DeSantis, as expected, push back very hard on all of this. He responded, “She has never called on any of the storms we’ve had since she’s been vice president until apparently now.”
Secondly, anyone challenging DeSantis’ capabilities in terms of recovery efforts is a complete and utter moron.
Even Joe Biden pushed back on what Harris was saying.
The lame-duck president stated, “All I can tell you is I’ve talked to Gov. DeSantis.
“He’s been very gracious, he’s thanked me for all we’ve done, he knows what we’re doing, and I think that’s important.”
Both sides are actually politicizing the recovery efforts, and both sides are making a lot of claims that are simply not true.
For instance, Donald Trump should have had a huge win in North Carolina, but he is hurting himself and possibly even costing himself the state with the things he is saying.
If they would just stick to the truth, this election would not even be close.
And as far as FEMA goes, the agency needs to be overhauled.
Regardless of who is in office, it always seems like agency is just not proactive, but reactive, whereas DeSantis is always proactive with assets on the ground and in position to get to work as soon as the storms are over.
Honestly, I think Trump would be wise to try to recruit DeSantis to his administration if he wins to be the new director of FEMA.
I think in four years, DeSantis could overhaul the agency and make it as effective as he has been while in Florida dealing with all these hurricanes over the last six years.
