WASHINGTON - OCTOBER 25: Democratic presidential candidate, Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE), announces a new piece of anti-crime legislation during a press conference at the U.S. Capitol October 25, 2007 in Washington, DC. Among other provisions, the bill would provide for hiring 1,000 new FBI agents to focus solely on traditional crimes, rather than crimes related to terrorism. (Photo by Win McNamee/Getty Images)

Surprise… the Biden administration lied to us again.

For months, the American people have been told that we had about 900 troops on the ground in Syria.

The Pentagon just admitted the real total is more than twice that.

Lying Again

Somehow, we are supposed to believe that Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Ryder has been in the dark about the number of troops on the ground in Syria.

Ryder tried to explain the situation this week.

He stated, “We have been briefing you regularly that there are approximately 900 U.S. troops deployed to Syria.

“In light of the situation in Syria, and in significant interest, we’ve recently learned that those numbers were higher.”

He further stated, “It was explained to me these additional forces are considered temporary rotational forces that deploy to meet shifting mission requirements, whereas the core 900 deployers are on longer term deployments.

“As you know, for many of our deployments, numbers will fluctuate from time to time, but given that this number is significantly higher than what we’ve been briefing, I wanted to let you know, as soon as I found out this information.”

Fox News’ Pentagon correspondent Jennifer Griffin then asked, “This is more than double the number of troops that we’ve been told for quite some time.

“So, are we talking about this has been going on for months? For Years? Is this something that just happened this summer? We need a time frame.”

Ryder responded, “Yeah, I think it would probably be fair to say at a minimum, months. I’ll go back and look. But it’s…yeah, it’s been going on for a while.”

Ryder further explained that the additional troops are considered “transitional” troops who were assigned to the post due to rising tension in the area.

Now, let’s go back to Biden being asked this summer about more troops being sent to the region, and he offered a quick “no” in response.

Yet, the very next day, the Pentagon announced it was sending more troops over to the Middle East.

A decision like that is not something that happens that quickly unless we are under attack, so I have to ask, who is calling the shots and why did Biden, at the time, not know we had more troops heading overseas?
