Once again, the left has decided that the best way to deal with history is to erase it.
West Point has been given the order to remove all traces of anyone or anything associated with the confederacy.
As such, more than a dozen items are being removed, including Robert E. Lee memorabilia.
Remove It
The decision comes after the House and Senate Armed Services Committees formed the Naming Commission in 2021.
This was a woke commission encouraged by the Biden administration to remove all items from government property that could be deemed offensive.
Even though Lee served as the superintendent at West Point before serving in the Confederate Army, Secretary Austin followed the recommendation of the committee.
West Point stated, “Academy leaders and key stakeholders developed a comprehensive plan to ensure that historical artifacts will be professionally and respectfully handled during the execution phase.
“Memorabilia removed during this process will be relocated to appropriate sites, including museums or other suitable venues.”
This is but one establishment where this has been happening, as Biden has spent millions for this committee of woke individuals to pick apart names that have stood in this country for decades, if not more than a century, to pacify those who get offended when you look at them the wrong way.
They seem to forget that, especially when it comes to military history, these monuments are pictures create conversation and debate that is good.
You learn from history by keeping it in your face, not by sending it to the basement and covering it with a cloth.
