Then can someone please explain why Joe Biden extended the COVID state of emergency for another few months?

In reality, this is about power.
Being in a state of emergency extends some powers and opens up some financing that would not otherwise be available.
This is a convenient way for Biden to keep those extra powers for the final few months before Congress changes over.
If the Dems lose the House, Biden knows he will be challenged to get anything through the House, so why take the chance?
