Donald Trump just announced another slew of lawsuits, but there is one of them that I specifically want to look at.
Trump is going to sue Des Moines Register pollster Ann Selzer for her poll on Iowa that had Harris leading by three points.
Not only that, but Breitbart’s Alex Marlow called her poll “insurrection.”
Won’t Work
Trump has some legitimate cases out there, but this is not one of them, and I am covering this because I don’t want you guys to get excited about something that is going to crash and burn.
Trump believes the poll, which was a clear outlier, was actually election interference.
Marlow went a step further, stating, “[Trump’s] announced he wants a lawsuit against Ann Selzer for rigging her Iowa poll to influence the election, of course he should do this. It absolutely was election interference. This was an insurrection.”
If a bad poll is election interference, well, there are going to be a lot more people who wind up getting sued.
As a matter of fact, most pollsters had Trump winning Iowa by about five or six points, so does that mean they are all guilty, too?
There are always outliers in polls, and this was clearly in that category.
When Marlow called in insurrection, well, that just makes him an idiot.
Trump is going to lose this case because polls are nothing more than a roll of the dice.
Think about it… this particular poll surveyed about 800 people in a state that has more than two million eligible voters.
How can you possibly get a real feel for how the state will go? This is exactly why virtually every poll in every state is off when it comes to percentages.
Polls are about trends and momentum to give us an idea of how things are going. They are far from an exact science, and everyone involved here knows this.
Trust me on this one… this lawsuit will go down in flames, and any pundit supporting it is only doing so to get on Trump’s good side.
