Largest Ban of Toxic Chemicals Ever

If the Deep State allows the proposal to go through, it will go down in history as the world’s “largest ever ban of toxic chemicals.” Over in Europe, they take the hazards of poisonous substances a lot more seriously than the EPA does here. On Monday, the European Commission made the first step in a massive move to outlaw up to “12,000 potentially toxic or harmful chemicals.

Ban on toxins

This week’s ban is being hailedas a first step in prohibiting use of certain substances linked to diseases and reproductive issues.” That’s really only the tip of a much larger iceberg. When people think of toxic chemicals, the image that comes to mind are ones in drums with a big skull and cross bones on them. What they don’t realize is that a fog of formaldehyde and fireproofing agents invisibly contaminates nearly every modern indoor space. People carry an inconspicuous cloud of contaminants around with them everywhere they go, marketed as a good thing.

Proctor and Gamble’s name is on half the things in your house. Johnson and Johnson makes everything from baby shampoo to Covid vaccine serum. They don’t like folks wondering if maybe their products aren’t quite as safe as the companies claim they are. You can rest assured, they will fight this measure to the death in court.

The official statement issued by the European Commission notes “up to 12,000 potentially toxic or harmful chemicals could soon be banned from use in Europe.

The executive branch of the European Union, basically their White House, published a “restrictions roadmap” on Monday, April 25. It’s only the first step, they admit, but the road leads to a big ban on nasty substances linked to even nastier diseases.

This may be the best thing to ever come out of their controversial European Green Deal. The commission published their strategy back in October when they “outlined a sustainable path toward a toxic-free environment.

That path leads straight to this newly proposed and sweeping ban.

Grouping chemicals together

One of the great things about the way this proposal is written is the way chemicals are put on the ban list by category, rather than by their individual names.

That, experts explain, makes it a lot harder to sidestep the rules. Otherwise, the Guardian reports, firms can use a tactic called “regrettable substitution — altering the composition of chemicals to create sister chemicals that could be just as dangerous.

Today, there are more than 190 million synthetic chemicals in registered use around the planet. They fall into categories by type and use.

Some of the worst offenders are “PVC plastics, flame retardants and bisphenols.” They will be named in the ban. The list is expected to be a living, growing thing itself. “The toxins will be part of a regularly reviewed rolling list.” Substances can be added or removed as needed.

A special “Reach” regulation will be updated in 2027 which “aims to improve the protection of human health and the environment through the better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances.” Nasty ones will be placed on the ban list as categories are determined toxic.

This problem the pros agree, is a lot worse than global warming. Chemical pollution has “surpassed a planetary boundary,” according to Euro News, “which could threaten humanity’s survival and break down essential ecosystems.
