Kamala Harris has dodged the media for most of the last three months.
Since her initial press conference announcing that she has been gifted the nomination, she has avoided serious media.
Now, only a month away from the election, she is doing a media blitz, mostly of softball interviews, but the one serious interview she did was a complete and utter flop.
Bomb
Harris has been doing shows like “The View,” Howard Stern, and the late-night circuit.
However, she did do an interview with “60 Minutes,” and it clearly did not go as planned.
As usual, Harris served up word salads and was completely unprepared for the interview, and host Bill Whitacker was not taking her usual background stories for an answer.
Whitacker asked her to explain how she was going to pay for her economic plan, and Harris responded, “I’m going to make sure that the richest among us who can afford it, pay their fair share in taxes.
“It is not right that teachers and nurses and firefighters are paying a higher tax rate than billionaires and the biggest corporations. And I plan on making that fair.”
That claim has always amused me because the top 1% in this county pay nearly half of all taxes collected every year.
Having said that, she still did not answer the question, and Whitacker pushed back, stating, “But we’re dealing with the real world here.” And he continued to press her on how she would get her plan through Congress.
Harris responded, “You know, when you talk quietly with a lot of folks in Congress, they know exactly what I’m talking about, because their constituents know exactly what I’m talking about. Their constituents are those firefighters and teachers and nurses.”
But again, she failed to answer the actual question…
Virtually everything Harris is promising will never happen because she nor Trump would have the numbers to pass such policy in Congress.
They would both be facing a sub-60 number in the Senate, which is what they would need to have tax legislation passed.
I am just glad that someone finally put her on the spot on the subject and proved that she is clueless.
