During a rally last week, Dr. Phil appeared to have endorsed Trump.
However, if you listened closely to what he said, you would see that he kind of skipped around it.
Now he is walking back the idea that he endorsed Trump, but he may want to reconsider that after Trump’s big win.
I Never Said That
When Dr. Phil appeared at the rally, he stated, “No human is perfect. We don’t strive for perfection.
“We strive for excellence, but you don’t have to love everything about someone in order to love them, and the last thing he needs is some celebrity endorsement.”
He later added, “There is an imbalance of power there, and it is time that every one of us close ranks. We have to stop this now.
“It’s time that we push back against cancel culture. It’s time that we push back against intimidation tactics.”
When Dr. Phil was later asked about supporting Trump, he insisted that he did not endorse Trump.
In fact, he said he offered to give the same speech for Kamala, offering about 25 times, but she never took him up on his offer.
So, he called the speech at the Trump rally an “act of rebellion.”
Going back and looking at his words, I would agree that technically, he did not endorse Trump, but it was pretty shady.
I guess he thinks his opinion matters so much that he could use the Trump rally to boost his profile. Then, when they threatened to cancel him, he could cover his back by saying that he never actually endorsed Trump.
Some might call that a coward… just saying.
If I know Trump, Dr. Phil will eventually face his wrath for trying to walk this back, using Semantics as his excuse.
I am not sure conservatives followed him anyway, but he surely just cost himself any future Trump followers.
