Thanks to progressive liberal policies leading to the collapse of “civilization,” crazed killers have become the new normal. Two incidents from widely separated parts of America highlight just how much progress Democrats have made by engineering society to fit their tastes. While liberals are gearing up to grab all the guns, who’s going to confiscate all the cars?
Crazed killers across America
Things got really hot in sunny Mesa, Arizona when 61-year-old John Lagana ran over Christopher Heimer, age 63. It was clearly no accident. Lagana hit Heimer with his car, chased him down, ran him over, then jumped out to stomp on his head. “No one deserves to go out the way he did,” Heimer’s next-door neighbor Emmanuel Reynoso Avila related to the news.
When did ordinary people become such blood thirsty killers? Of course, there have been homicidal monsters all along. Crimes of passion are no more frequent now than they have been through eternity but we used to talk to our neighbors and work out our differences. Democrats are convinced anyone with a gun is a threat. What about anyone with a car? Or a hammer?
The really scary part is that none of the crazed killers wandering loose in America think twice about murdering a neighbor. Just after 12:30 p.m. on Friday, August 12, Mesa Police “responded to multiple reports of a driver running over another person on purpose.” An armed and vigilant citizen was in control when they arrived. “A witness used their own firearm and shot a round into the ground, preventing 61-year-old John Lagana from leaving the area and allowing officers to take him into custody immediately when they arrived.”
According to the unnamed neighbor, Lagana “swerved out of the roadway and struck Heimer as he was walking on the north sidewalk, throwing him into the landscaping of a fourplex apartment complex. Lagana continued to travel eastbound on the sidewalk, damaging mailboxes and landscaping before turning around and driving back toward Heimer.”
Police explain that “Lagana again drove onto the sidewalk, into the landscaping and ran over Heimer, who was already lying injured on the ground. Lagana then got out of his vehicle and proceeded to stomp on Heimer’s head multiple times. This is when one witness used their firearm to put an end to Lagana’s actions.” It was an ambush.
“Witnesses said that Lagana had been parked in a vacant lot northwest of Heimer’s home, and he honked his horn repeatedly until the victim stepped outside.” That’s when “Lagana allegedly accelerated through the empty lot onto the street, leaving behind skid marks on the road and sidewalk.” Everywhere, it seems, killers are hiding in plain sight.
Car and hammer murders
Over on the other side of America, in Berwick, Pennsylvania, the second of our crazed killers claimed one female victim and injured 17 more, by driving his car “into a crowd of attendees at an event.” That one happened Saturday evening.
The day wasn’t over yet for 24-year-old Adrian Oswaldo Sura Reyes. According to Pennsylvania State Police, “the suspect fled and later attacked and killed his mother with a hammer.”
As hard to believe as it sounds, police actually arrested him for it. Even more surprising, prosecutors pressed charges. Reyes was arraigned Sunday by Magisterial District Judge Doug Brewer on two open counts of criminal homicide.
His police report states that “about 6:12 p.m. Saturday, a Honda Accord careened into a group of people in the parking lot of the Intoxicology Department, a bar in Berwick.” Nobody is sure why he did it but one thing killers like this have in common is a need for attention.
“At the time of the crash, the bar was hosting a day-long fundraiser for the families of 10 people – including three children – who were killed in a house fire last week.” The good news is that the fundraiser had a huge turnout. The bad news is that there “were about 75 people in the parking lot” when Reyes came plowing through.
Cold blooded killers have no consideration at all for their victims. “The complaint identified the woman killed as Rebecca Reese, who police said was dragged by the car after she was struck. Of the 17 people hospitalized, at least five remained in critical condition Sunday.“
