A former big player in the Connecticut political scene is about to trade in his suit for an orange jumper.
Michael DiMassa, a West Haven Democrat, has pleaded guilty to three counts of wire fraud conspiracy.
With his plea deal, he will probably do roughly four years in jail.

DiMassa was a state representative and an aide to the West Haven City Council.
He also happened to have approval authority for the release of COVID funds.
So, he helped himself to about $1.2 million of that cash for, among other things, gambling at the casino.
His wife has also been indicted, having received almost $150,000 for services that were never received.
She claims she turned all the money over to her husband.
The theft by the corrupt Democrat was discovered when questions were raised about the COVID expenditures.
When the books were audited, they found the trail of the money that DiMassa had stolen.
Who wants to bet that if we audited every city, we would find something similar going on.
