Personal Chris Wray Travel Aboard Government Jet

The head honcho of the FBI is so far above the law he jets off on a personal vacation at taxpayer expense. Not only that, Christopher Wray is so insulated from the deplorable masses that he does it in a fancy jet. He’s supposed to reimburse us by paying the commercial equivalent, which is peanuts compared to the actual cost. Lawmakers are wondering if Wray ever even bothers to cough up that much, so, they’re demanding to see his travel records.

His own personal pleasure jet

What is so special about FBI Director Christopher Wray that he gets to jet off to his private little lake in the mountains in a “personal” Gulfstream 550 jet “originally intended for use for counterintelligence operations?” That’s what Elise Stefanik and “other top ranking member-level Republicans” are asking, Fox News reports.

They came up with a few little questions since they found out about his “use of a taxpayer-funded government plane to transport him to his vacation home in New York.” The timing was a little awkward, too. Charles Grassley is still jumping up and down and screaming over that.

A New York conservative, Stefanik is also the House GOP Conference Chair. She was joined by House Committee on Oversight and Reform Ranking Member James Comer of Kentucky and Mike Turner, who is an Ohio Republican and a ranking member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

The group signed off on a letter and had a messenger carry it over to Wray on Monday, August 15. They’re demanding answers direct from the horse’s mouth about his “personal travel” habits.

They spell it out in the beginning that they are there on business. “We write to conduct oversight” of the Federal Bureau of Instigation. Specifically, they want to know about FBI use of “Government aircraft and compliance with the applicable Federal regulations and requirements.

For instance, they “have questions about whether you are properly reimbursing federal taxpayers for your personal travel aboard government aircraft.” Wray really cheesed off Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing last week.

A mere 21 minutes more

Christopher Wray had his escape plan all set before he walked into the hearing room. He had plenty of advance notice that the session would be an intense, under oath grilling about bias in the bureau, so he made sure his personal jet was standing by and ready for takeoff. For some reason, no registered Democrat can do wrong in any way that’s meaningful but the bureau has to crawl up the rear end of every single conservative they encounter and make sure they’re locked in a cell for conspiracy to commit insurrection.

All it takes to trigger federal prosecution is a conservative political philosophy. Liberals all get a free pass to do as they please, they even get help committing their crimes and covering them up. Just ask Hunter Biden. Chuck Grassley wanted answers on that very question. Chris simply had to split. He had an important gig. One way too “sensitive” to reveal to the Senate.

Grassley was visibly upset as he thundered, “we just heard a half hour ago about you having to leave at 1:30.” What’s up with that. Important Senators had important questions. “Is there any reason we couldn’t accommodate them for 21 minutes?” Yeah, there’s a reason, Wray responded. “Senator, I had a flight that I’m supposed to be high-tailing it to outta here, and I had understood that we were going to be done at 1:30, so that’s how we ended up where we are.

Even if it was his own personal jet. According to the Office of Management and Budget, “a government plane is only authorized for ‘official purposes‘ and may only be authorized outside official travel when no commercial air is available or would cost more.” That doesn’t seem to fit in this case one bit.

The Republican lawmakers didn’t miss that in their letter. “You reportedly departed on the FBI’s Gulfstream 550 jet, an agency aircraft initially intended for counterterrorism use, to make the one hour and 12-minute journey to Saranac Lake. Further, it has been reported that you made a similar personal trip on a government aircraft on June 2 and June 5, 2022.” That makes it a pattern.

Although certain federal officials are permitted to use government aircraft for personal or political use, these expenses must be reimbursed.” They demand to see his receipts. Chris just smirks. He flies way too far above the law to ever cough any “evidence” up.
